House of Fraser

Client: House of Fraser is Britain's top retailer of designer brand fashion, beauty, home and TV and audio goods.

Challenge: To replace House of Fraser's costly, complex, proprietary EDI system with an open, standards-based collaboration platform that enables 100 percent of orders to be placed electronically.

Solution: House of Fraser implemented the Covast EDI Accelerator and Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 to create a single, fully integrated platform and messaging hub to support its EDI systems. This has resulted in a 50 percent reduction in system management costs and a 90 percent reduction in the cost of paper communications. Data is updated across the enterprise in real time, integrated with back-office applications and shared with more than 50 stores and 1300 suppliers at any point in time.
