ATLANTA and ROTTERDAM, The Netherlands – May 4, 2005
– Covast, a leading provider of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) integration
solutions for collaborative business environments, has announced that the Covast
EDI Accelerator product has passed the official certification program for Microsoft
BizTalk Server 2004. Conducted by Unisys at the Solution Alliance Technology
Center in Redmond, Washington, this certification program validates the interoperability
and product compatibility between BizTalk Server 2004 and the Covast EDI Accelerator.
Through a neutral third party analysis, the Unisys technical certification
program helps to ensure that vendors developing BizTalk Server 2004 adapters
provide a consistent, quality product to their customers. The program is based
on the Microsoft BizTalk Server Adapter Framework and examines several critical
factors, including a vendor's technical capabilities, security and support structures.
To acquire certification, the Covast EDI Accelerator was required to pass several
rigorous product tests relative to security, support, usability, interoperability,
installation, stress and reliability.
“Our certification program helps to ensure that vendors developing adapters
for BizTalk Server 2004 provide customers with a consistent level of quality
and integration capabilities. Through our certification program, the Covast
EDI Accelerator has proven its ability to meet the highest standards of integration
and interoperability with the BizTalk Server platform,” said John Huygens,
senior manager of solutions and services, Unisys Corporation.
The Covast EDI Accelerator allows enterprises to easily integrate complex EDI
infrastructures with BizTalk’s XML-centric environment. This allows for
a smooth flow of information between legacy EDI solutions, internal applications
and Internet-based trading partners. By gaining Unisys certification, enterprises
that are looking to integrate legacy EDI systems with Microsoft BizTalk Server
2004 can be assured of Covast’s interoperability and integration capabilities.
“Integration can make or break any IT investment, especially those pertinent
to large legacy systems such as EDI. Because of this, our mission is to provide
low-risk, high ROI solutions for EDI integration. The certification we have
earned from Unisys speaks to that commitment,” said Daan Scheer, CEO,
