Covast Announces Trading Partner Management Feature Pack for Its EDI Accelerator for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 Robust, Intuitive Application Enables Businesses to Easily Manage Large Numbers of Trading Partners ATLANTA - January 17, 2006 - Covast, a leading provider of Electronic Data
Interchange (EDI) integration solutions for collaborative business environments,
today announced Feature Pack 1 of the Covast EDI Accelerator for Microsoft BizTalk
Server 2006, the newest addition to the company's suite of B2B integration solutions.
Feature Pack 1 will provide businesses leveraging Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006
with a single, synchronized system to manage and interact with their trading partners.
The application's robust user interface will enable business managers to easily
create, change, or delete trading partner data and efficiently configure processes
related to a trading partner.
"The Trading Partner Management Feature Pack will address businesses'
need for a solution that ties together the capabilities in BizTalk Server in
a comprehensive system for managing their trading partner relationships,"
said Daan Scheer, CEO of Covast. "The solution will focus on the B2B need
by delivering a single point of control for partner information and easy management
of data, processes, roles, and reports."
Feature Pack 1, or the Trading Partner Management (TPM) Feature Pack, will greatly
extend the capabilities of the Covast EDI Accelerator for Microsoft BizTalk
Server 2006, the first version of the Covast's leading solution that is completely
and fully integrated in the Microsoft BizTalk Server architecture. The application
is designed to enable businesses to fully leverage the powerful capabilities
of BizTalk Server to deliver the specific B2B features they need to establish
and maintain effective and efficient relationships with their extended enterprise.
The advanced features of Covast's TPM Feature Pack will include:
- A robust user interface. The intuitive application will enable users
to easily manage the powerful capabilities of TPM Feature Pack and efficiently
maintain partner interaction.
- A central repository for maintaining trading partner relationships.
The TPM Feature Pack will provide one place from which users can access and
maintain trading partner profiles. The application provides role-based access
control and secure storage of sensitive information.
- Partner self-provisioning functionality. The TPM Feature Pack will
provide a portal for trading partners to manage their own data, conduct document
self-testing, and establish new workflows, saving the primary user time and
ensuring accuracy.
- Classification of standard business process flows. Large companies
will be able to easily implement their standard processes across all partners.
- Roles definition for grouping sets of work flows. Based on the role
of the user, standard work flows relevant for that particular user will be
automatically established in the system.
- Extensive reporting. The application will incorporate the many reports
that a partner manager needs such as a flow report, reconciliation report,
skipped sequence report, and Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance report.
- Scalability. TPM Feature Pack delivers an API for programmatically
performing features on a mass scale such as importing and exporting data on
partners, including digital certificates.
- Visibility into business performance. Users will obtain real-time
business performance data on individual partners by tying into Business Activity
Monitoring (BAM) functions.
"We've seen in the past few years that our EDI Accelerator together with
BizTalk Server have been implemented by the largest enterprises who are struggling
to manage and monitor their massive amounts of trading partners with the traditional
tooling available," said Gijsbert in 't Veld, CTO of Covast. "The
solution's scalable architecture and groundbreaking user interface design in
combination with bulk load and extract functionalities will help them greatly
to overcome this problem, making it possible to further grow without any barriers
imposed by the B2B integration solution deployed."
The Covast EDI Accelerator extends BizTalk Server, making it a fully capable
B2B (EDI) server. It provides the translation of a wide variety of EDI documents
to and from XML, greatly enhancing the EDI support native in BizTalk Server
2006. By integrating EDI and XML, the latest Covast solution extends the value
and agility of BizTalk Server 2006 to open up a whole new range or possibilities
for companies seeking new markets and trading partners.
The TPM Feature Pack is expected to be generally available later in 2006. For
